MPTH School Bus Album with Crate Paper

Geez, this took me alot longer than I had anticipated.  Usually I am a pretty fast scrapper but this album took me about a week, and still I have to put some finishing touches on it.  I need bigger zutter rings so gotta go shopping for that.  I should have known, I can't seem to make a flat album to save my life ...

So I designed this cute school bus cover, that alone took me 4 hours!!!  Once I have it totally finished the way I like it I will post the entire album on you tube.

I pretty much used up my entire kit on this album.  I still have a couple of rub-ons left and a few chipboard embellies.  I added some extra tags, a cute lunch bag,  ribbon and buttons of course.  The buttons look so cute hanging off the tags right?

I will post a link to you tube, once I have it up.  Thanks for looking.

Sticks, Buttons and My Paper Treehouse

Everyone that knows me .... knows that I love buttons!!  I almost always add buttons to my layouts or albums.  How did I become the button lady?  I inherited it from my mama.  My mom was a very talented lady, she could make anything out of yarn, paper or fabric.  My mom would make all our sweaters and dresses for my sisters and I.

This is one of my prized possessions, I have it hanging in my scraproom to give me inspiration and to remind me of my mama.

My sister Rebecca made this for my Birthday.  My twin sisters are very talented, they turned out like Mom.

I had the white rose on a dress my mom made me in high school

The little elephant button use to be on one of daughter's sweaters that mom made for her

So when I received My Paper Treehouse kit I was challenged to use some popsicle  sticks that came in my kit.  Now this is why I love monthly kits ... I would never have thought of using sticks in my projects, but here I had some in my kit so I racked my brain and knew that I wanted to add buttons.

This is what I came up with.  Now this is just a seak peek because this album is taking longer than I originally thought so here is what I have done so far.

I made large tags that go into the pockets

I added my sticks which I painted and my fabric from my kit to decorate the tag "handle"

Of course I had to add some buttons

I took a break to show you what I have done so far, so I still have a couple hours till I have to run errands.  Back to work for me, I hope to have my album finished by tomorrow.  Keep checking back, and if you have any questions ... dont be shy.  Also check out my paper tree house online to buy the monthly kits.  This September kit is loaded with the Crate Paper School Spirit Collection.

My New Crate Paper Monthly Kit

Received my kit from MPTH.  All I can say is ... SOOOO CA-UTE!!!

I am playing with my kit today so I am very excited about that.  I love playing with new paper, yummy.  So I know that I am making another album, and the only hint that I am giving is that it is shaped like an image I see in the above pic.  Can you guess what it is?

My Paper Tree House with Echo Park AUGUST KIT

Whoo Hoo, finished my album!!  I decided to make an album for my little girl who is not so little anymore (boo hoo).  I used my MPTH kit from August which was filled with so much cuteness from Echo Park "Life Is Good" collection.

I started off by looking through my boxes of photos (yes, I did say unorganized BOXES) and picked out some really cute pics of my daughter Vanessa.  Well my photos are not dated or for that matter organized but I do remember how my angel pie was at that age.  I decided therefore to make an album for her with random photos and my memories of her personality.

One of these days I will organize my boxes of photos chronologically, but for right now I am too busy scrapbooking LOL.  Any who there are all sorts of ways you can scrapbook; such as chronologically, by theme such as vacation, or holiday.  Or in my case by feelings and little snippet's of memory.  That is how I did my Vanessa album.  Random photos with snippet's of memory when I took the photos and its mostly about Vanessa's character rather than events.

THINGS I LOVE ABOUT YOU

I covered the album cover with the fabric I received in my kit along
with some of the pattern paper

Vanessa has such a beautiful smile that you can't help
but smile back

I loved using the tiny alphabet that I received with my kit.

The kit has a full sheet of journal blocks and titles.
Makes it easy to use

I added a "floating matte" so that I could slip in a journal
tag behind my photo

The kit comes with a full sticker sheet with cutie patootie embellies
and borders to add to your pages

I made this pink rose bud out of t-shirt material
If you want to see more pages of my album go on over to MY PAPER TREE HOUSE BLOG and see what I posted there.  Also why dont you become of FAN OF MY PAPER TREE HOUSE, then you can keep up with the latest and greatest of the monthly kits and what the gang  is doing, and also our guest designer for the month Michelle Lanning.

Better Late Than Never .... with IOD Loolah

Just got back from a great time in Texas - we went to the Johnson Family reunion.  This is my husband's side of the family and boy are there alot of Johnson's out there in Texas.  We went to a camping/resort and of course we stayed in a cabin since dirt, camping, bugs and I dont see eye to eye.  So now that I am back I realized I never showed the rest of my MPTH July kit album pages.  So here goes ...

The Pre Orders for the MPTH August Kit should be up.  Be sure to get yours before they sell out!!!  I already have several ideas as to what to do when I get my kit.  Stayed tuned to what the fab designers of MPTH have in store.

Some Sweet Inspiration and Loolah

Remember how I had said on an earlier post that I had "tons" of product in my MPTH July Kit? Well I do, and as I was playing with my paper again, I started to get hungry for something sweet. Which led me to this.....

I found this website called "Ming Makes Cupcakes" and she has great receipes if you feel like baking

Well after eating my cupcake I went back to my pretty paper and made this...........

I made this out of a paper mache box I had left over from Christmas.

I had left over flowers, so I used one on top along with my prima leaves, and I used my IOD paper as a rim on my gift box. I thought I could give this cute gift box to my girfriend for her birthday with a gift card inside. Cute right? I hope I inspired you to use your July kit.

Here is some more cupcake inspiration I found.

These are made with baby Onesies and bibs -

Another Reveal for the MPTH July Kit with Loolah

I gotta tell you, I have had so much fun with the JULY kit. I love everything about it and this kit has really brought out the "artist" in me. It felt so good to bring out my paints and brushes and just start painting on canvas. The inspiration of course came from the Loolah line of IOD. I love, love, love the daisies and ladybugs from this line.

The first thing I did was paint my whole canvas in a citron green. Then I took the chipboard template I made for the "designer add-on" which is a sketch of a daisy and painted the surface with white acrylic paint. I "stamped" it on my canvas and then went back and filled in the spaces with white paint in order to bring out the daisy print. After it was dry and I went over the flower with a black zig pen. Then I drew in some leaves and painted those green.

When my canvas was dry I added the other embellies I had in my kit and voila, this little piece of inspiration will be mounted in my scrap room.

MPTH July Kit Card with IOD

I made several projects with my MPTH JULY kit and thought I would show you another card I made.  For those of you that have already ordered the July kit, Yeah!!  I cant believe that the kit has already sold out - WOW.  It is no wonder though because I love these papers from IOD.  The ladies over at MPTH are starting to reveal their work on the blog so be sure to check out the fabulous job they are doing.

Here is one of 5 projects I have made so far with my kit, and I still have left over paper and embellies, its amazing how much product you get in one kit!!
