I usually make albums, but I also make layouts, cards, altered items, home décor .... I just can't make one thing ALL the time. So today I am showing you some Disney Layouts!
Since I can't leave well enough alone, I have distressed these lovelies for that oh so good Vintage/Shabby feel. Hence Minnie's nose got scratched :)

Is it because I live in Florida that I am still thinking about the beach? Or is it that I just LOVE the beach? I was raised in Southern California then move to South Florida is that a clue that I need to be near the ocean, sand, shells, and sun? Well ... Yes! But alas it's almost October so I have to move on. So here is a sneek peek of my Last Summer Album for 2013.

Just wanted to share these cute little custom made Christmas cards for a good customer of mine. She has commissioned several doggie themed projects from me and I just finished her order for Christmas Cards.
She has a cute weiner dog (dachshund) and wanted a set of 20 Christmas cards.
I am currently working on my last SUMMER album for this year then I will begin my Halloween and Fall Albums. They all will go on Etsy so come on over to my Kitsnbitscraps shop and see what I have. There are handmade album, cards, mixed media along with an eclectic range of scrapbooking supplies.
My Butterfly Album is featured over at Basically Bare today. Love the Polly Pocket albums, so easy to use because they come with their own large tags that you can use for journaling or photos. How about a photo on one side and journaling on the back?

Just wanted to share with you the rest of the Pages for my May Arts album that I created. Since there were so many photos, I decided to make the album into a You Tube video.
This album took a long while to make because it has so many details. I am the queen of details (or so I've been told.) I used the 7 Gypsies 2 ring binder along with K&Co. "Handmade by Cara Marie" collection along with Tim Holtz Kraft Resist. Along the way I used die cuts, Heidi Grace, of course tons of May Arts (12 different ribbons), October Afternoon buttons, Prima Flowers, some LYB, Maya Road .... you get the picture.
I love using a combination of product to get different textures because I am a touchy feely person. Digitals are great but give me something solid to hold any day of the week.
So this album really epitomizes my style, though I always get confused with that question. The problem I think with me is that I like making way too many different things. Though I must say that I love using a combo of vintage muted browns with lots of bright colors. Is that an oxymoron?
So even though my album was not chosen for the May Arts DT, there is always next year! I really am a ribbon hoarder and it might be too late to teach this dog a new trick.
This was a fun album to make. I used the Basically Bare (mix and match) 6x6 album along with Bo Bunny, lots of die cuts, Ranger, May Arts and American Craft ribbon,
Whew! I have been so busy the last couple of weeks making a custom wedding album. There were tons of photos so it was kind of tough trying to fit them all in without the scrapbook album looking like a photo album. You know what I mean, a scrapbook album has pretty paper, embellishment, ribbon and a pleasing balanced look. A photo album has a bunch of photos.
When creating a custom album you really need to communicate with the person commissioning the album. You need to get across that not ALL the pictures are going to make it on the album. I took the time to explain that the album needs to tell a story, and a pictures speaks a thousand words so really you only need 1-3 pictures for that particular event. And there are a lot of mini events in a wedding album. The procession, the ceremony, the cake, the grooms family, the brides family, the first dance, etc.

It's my day to be featured over at the new Basically Bare Blog today. I chose to share a beach card using the Gears and the Up Up and Away from Basically Bare.
I am thrilled to present my project for the May Arts DT
Submission Round Two!I am so excited to
have made it this far.I had to try out
for the May Arts DT because I have been using these ribbons for so long.Too long to let the cat out of the bag
because then you’ll guess that I’m much older than I tell people.
Today, I will be leading you through a tutorial of my mini
album titled:“Do What You Love”.Those that know me did not have any doubt that I
would be making a mini album LOL.Most
of the time I start my albums with what theme I want and that leads to the
paper I will be using; and then it leads to the colors I choose.
Step One:Gather your
supplies anything you think you might or might not use.
Mostly likely if the product is in front of you then, for me
anyway, it will be used.Try and get a
style going, whether it’s vintage, monochromatic, or a collection of
papers.Start matching up May Arts ribbon to go with your
project along with buttons, chipboard, fabric, fiber, whatever your “go to”
favorites are.
Step Two:Since I will
be using a chipboard binder album, I need to cover it up. See below where I cut
my paper bigger than the chipboard front and back covers. I want to fold in the paper to get nice tight mitered
corners on the album covers.
Album is 5.5 by
7.5.Cut two sheets 1 inch bigger for
front and back.
Binder – I am
using burlap to wrap around to cover the binding on my 2 ring album. I cut the
burlap 6.5 by 7.5 to wrap around the 2.5 by 7.5 binding.Then I used corrugated cardboard first adding
eyelets and sheer dot 3/8” ribbon before adhering to the binding.
Notice my woven burlap ribbon on the outside cover.Adhere the burlap ribbon before covering the
inside pages.It is just a nice finish
around the album rather than a blunt cut
These are the ribbons I used.
Step Three:I usually
make the cover first, that’s just me – it sets the mood for the rest of the
album.
I made a special “flower” for the front of my album.I cut 8 pieces of 4 inch each of the burgundy
burlap wired ribbon.Then I folded the
pieces in half and sewed them all together.Afterwards I sewed a button using SM10 jute fiber and then cut my 8 petals
in half lengthwise.Now I ended up with
16 petals and since the ribbon is wired the petals fluff out nicely.
Here is my finished album cover.I also added the 393-25-09 cream flower ribbon
to the cover along with the green BY16 leaves and the soft green leaves XL16
that I cut apart.

Step Four:This is where
I decide whether or not I am going to “add” to the album pages.In this case I decided to add an acrylic flag
and some tags, and also added to binding.
Flag:Using acetate from K&Co. “Handmade – Cara
Marie” collection, Clearscraps acrylic flag, May Arts cream flower 393-25-09, green
faux suede XL 16,pompom wired yellow PM27
Binder:added May Arts RG25 grosgrain/ivory stripes
ribbon, Tim Holtz Idea-ology acrylic tags
Tag:Used Ranger Distress Ink and Tattered Angels
spray on manila tag.Then I cut approx 3”
long and ½ inch apart slits into tag.I
then wove May Arts Ribbon through slits and added scraps of paper.To embellish I stamped a Maya Road bee, added a
charm and a wooden tag.
Used ribbons:RG25,
JD33, PM27, 445-15-25 and brown 1” wide sheer C33 to tie a nice bow at end of tag
Step Five:Finish decorating your pages. Decide what
element is going to go throughout the book.This will give the album some continuity.
On this album I will use the same ribbons and buttons on all
my mats.
I used brown sheer polka dot JD33 on all mats and then I
used brown Jute SM33 to tie my buttons.You can use different papers on your mats but the ribbons and buttons (pack
of October Afternoon buttons) are the same throughout.

I love how the Spring tag turned out with the flowers and bees. The Summer tag has sunshine and shells. The Fall tag I think is cute because I only did the back of the doggie plus it has a cute pumpkin. The Winter tag I like because the penguin, snowman and doggie each have on their own winter hat.
