Decorating for Christmas with Helmar

Hi, the Holidays are in full swing and I got with the program and made this cute door hanger for my guest room to welcome family.

This cute door hanger is featured over at the Helmar blog today, please go on over and say hello. Also my design team mates are getting very creative this month so you will want to browse for ideas.

For this project I chose two specific adhesives from Helmar

To make this project I started off with a wood plaque I bought at Michaels.  I then painted it white with acrylic paint and put down a layer of gesso using my crafter's workshop swirl stencil

I then used Helmar's 450 quick dry to adhere my paper, cheesecloth, chipboard and transparencies.  I used it because it dries very quickly and once dry will not come off.  Its good for adhering to gesso like below, wood, heavy items

Next I used the Tacky Craft glue because I needed a thick dry clear glue for my beads and glitter.  This glue allows me to embed the beads and add more layers to give it full coverage

Thank you for stopping by today, I wish you all the best this Christmas

My Pumpkin Table Decor and Helmar

Hi, it's my turn over at Helmar today and I created some cute home décor pieces.  I am lucky enough to have a Home Goods and a Joanne's right next to each other so I did a little shopping.  I bought the paper-mache pumpkin at Joanne's and the adorable square all wood pumpkin at Home Décor.

I decided to decorate them using Helmar's Decoupage and also Crystal Kote Gloss Varnish.
They look great on my dining room table and especially when my family dropped by.

Below are some photos of my process but for more extensive photos please go on over to the Helmar blog today and take a look at my post.  Let me know what you think.

Veteran's Day Card

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a card featured at Helmar.  Please go on over and say hello.  As you know tomorrow is Veteran's Day and I wanted to create a patriotic card using Helmar Adhesives.

I knew I wanted to use an American Flag so I went out and bought Tim Holt's "Flag Sketch" stamp and used Stampendous red embossing power to emboss the image on my card.

I fussy cut a soldier image that I found on the a free clip art site and I die cut some flags out of navy felt.  I glued this all together using Helmar 450 Quick Dry and lifted the soldier off my card with Helmar Zap Dots.

Thank you all for stopping by - please go on over to my post at Helmar where I have posted more photos.

Happy Veteran's Day to our American Heroes

Trick or Treat with Helmar Tacky Craft Glue

Hi, my turn over at Helmar today!  Please go over to the blog and see my post and photos of my process to make these cute bags.

So I it was Dollar Day for me and my friends.  Went shopping at the Dollar Store and got lots of Halloween goodies including the materials I needed to make my Trick Or Treat bags for Helmar today.

I also went on line to one of my favorite paper piecing sites "My Scrap Chick" because they were having a dollar day discount!  So I was able to make four of these cutie bags for $1.00 each and I still have left over paper bags, cardstock, fabric and of course my paper piecing pattern.

You have the option of making these treat bags nice and cute and clean as shown above, but I decided to distress my pieces with my Prima Ingvild Bolme distressing tool.  I also used the spidery webbing fabric as my background and chalked and inked up my ghost face and pumpkin.

To make my treat bags extra spooky I added the skeletons to the bags.  Of course if you are making these bags for small children you can add a cute pumpkin other than a scary skeleton.

These bags were fun to make and all it took was a little time and $4.00 total!

Thank you for stopping by today, Happy Halloween ...

Happy Fall Tag and Helmar

Hi, my Happy Fall tag is being featured over at Helmar today.  This tag was so much fun to create.  I love lots of texture and layers so this tag expresses my style.

Since I take extra care when I design and create, I want to make sure that my projects last. Therefore to ensure that my projects do not fall apart I use Helmar adhesives; on this project I used Fabric Glue and also Scrap Dots.

When making projects I tend to organize my studio in themes rather than manufacturer so when making this tag I picked up my "Fall" box which has bits and pieces of fall related products vs. manufacturer.  The box is also already organized with related embellishments and colors.

Here are some photos of my process below:

Peek at my New Studio and Helmar

Hi, it's my turn over at Helmar today so please go and take a look.  Today I am sharing a peek at my New Studio and also showing two new pieces that I designed for the Helmar Blog today.

I am finally finished organizing and remodeling my studio.  I love it!  My colors are burnished grey, black, white and yellow for my highlight color.

I added an industrial chic look with the metal utility carts and rustic baskets for storage.

I had two spots in my studio that I needed to fill with some cute and handmade décor so I designed these two projects for Helmar.

Here is a one of my walls that I decorated.  I finally have a studio where I can display some of my work. I love the printer antique trays that I can store some of my stamps.  I also like that I have a lot of "V's" in my room LOL.  The steampunk canvas I designed with lots of paint, metal, stencils and the beautiful butterfly canvas my girlfriend gave me for my birthday.  The metal welcome and arrow on the wall I got at Hobby Lobby.

Below is a different view of my studio.  LOVE my work table.  I painted the legs grey.  I ordered the metal yellow stools at Target.

Last but not least I have a partner in crime in my studio with me.

Thank you for stopping by today, be sure to head on over to my post on Helmar.

Happy scrapping ...
