Steampunk Canvas Goodbye

Hi, today is my last post for Art Anthology, its been fun but time to move on.  Plus my next major project is to remodel my craft room so that is going to take a while.

So this month Art Anthology challenged us to make a steampunk themed project.  I decided to re-do a canvas that I was demoing at CHA and repurpose it.

I had originally planned on just adding to my pastel canvas but then decided to go grungy.  So
I went from this ...

To my steampunk inspired canvas.

I started with stone effects and stencils

Then added colorations spray

After, I added more stencils with a mixture of texture paste (stucco) and sorbet (mi bella)

Then I started adding layers of embellishments.

Thank you for stopping by today, happy scrapping ...

Decoupage Gift Boxes with Helmar

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to share this cute gift box I made for Valentine's Day using Helmar's Decoupage.  I have a girl friend who made a bunch of gift boxes for Christmas some large, some small.  She used them for gift cards, clothing, all kinds of things.  I thought it was a brilliant idea and I've been wanting to make one since Christmas.

I used Helmar's Decoupage to adhere my Valentine paper onto my paper mache house.  It went very smoothly; I then used Helmar's Craft Glue to adhere all my embellishments.

Go on over to the Helmar blog and see more photos of my gift box project.  These make such great gift boxes.  For this one, I filled it with home made cookies.

Leaky Shed Studio Julie Nutting Canvas

Hi today my canvas is being featured over at Leaky Shed Studio.  I love the Julie Nutting chipboard dolls over at Leaky Shed Studio where they have several doll options.  I decided to create a cute canvas for my scrap room wall.

I used the following Leaky Shed Studio chipboard pieces.

Julie Nutting Candy Doll

For process photos of how I prepared my Leaky Shed Studio chipboard; please go on over to the blog today ... Leaky Shed Studio

Here are photos of my process after I prepared my chipboard pieces.

First I painted on thick gesso on my canvas.  Then I used strips of G45 "once upon a springtime" and latticed the strips of paper and spread a thin layer of Art Anthology sorbet "vegas gold" to adhere the paper.

I added the Art Anthology stencil "bubbles" with some "vegas gold" sorbet; then I spattered black delta paint on the canvas.   Next I used my finger to add a thick layer of the sorbet around the edges to frame the canvas.

Now that I have my base canvas the way that I want it, I start to layer on my embellishments and my chipboard.

This next part is my favorite because it is when I add all the little tiny details and extras.  Notice the flowers, jewels, leaves, more lace ...

I appreciate you stopping by for a visit.  Please visit the Leaky Shed Studio blog for the first part of my post where I go through the process of preparing the chipboard.

Happy Scrapping ...
