Some Sweet Inspiration and Loolah

Remember how I had said on an earlier post that I had "tons" of product in my MPTH July Kit? Well I do, and as I was playing with my paper again, I started to get hungry for something sweet. Which led me to this.....

I found this website called "Ming Makes Cupcakes" and she has great receipes if you feel like baking

Well after eating my cupcake I went back to my pretty paper and made this...........

I made this out of a paper mache box I had left over from Christmas.

I had left over flowers, so I used one on top along with my prima leaves, and I used my IOD paper as a rim on my gift box. I thought I could give this cute gift box to my girfriend for her birthday with a gift card inside. Cute right? I hope I inspired you to use your July kit.

MPTH July Designer Add On Using IOD Loolah

Just a sneek of the inside of the album using Punky Sprouts and JULY KIT with Loolah from IOD.

My Paper Treehouse is busy with ordering the AUG KIT which will be Echo Park's "Life is Good" .  I cant wait till I get my hands on that kit, I already have an idea of what to do with it.  Whoo Hoo, I am getting so excited.  Keep watch for when the PREORDER for the AUG Kit is posted on My Paper Treehouse.

PFOP Christmas in July Challenge!!

Join the PFOP design team when we highlight our Christmas in July Challenge.

Here is one of the things I made for this challenge - it is called Winter Wonderland and is made with the Tattered Angels gatefold album.  I placed "snow" on the gate of the album and used candy cane and marshallow glimmer mist for the covers.  I also used the tattered angels swirl screen; and then used a silver leaf ink pen to pronounce the feeling of snow and winter.

Another Reveal for the MPTH July Kit with Loolah

I gotta tell you, I have had so much fun with the JULY kit. I love everything about it and this kit has really brought out the "artist" in me. It felt so good to bring out my paints and brushes and just start painting on canvas. The inspiration of course came from the Loolah line of IOD. I love, love, love the daisies and ladybugs from this line.

The first thing I did was paint my whole canvas in a citron green. Then I took the chipboard template I made for the "designer add-on" which is a sketch of a daisy and painted the surface with white acrylic paint. I "stamped" it on my canvas and then went back and filled in the spaces with white paint in order to bring out the daisy print. After it was dry and I went over the flower with a black zig pen. Then I drew in some leaves and painted those green.

When my canvas was dry I added the other embellies I had in my kit and voila, this little piece of inspiration will be mounted in my scrap room.

I made several projects with my MPTH JULY kit and thought I would show you another card I made.  For those of you that have already ordered the July kit, Yeah!!  I cant believe that the kit has already sold out - WOW.  It is no wonder though because I love these papers from IOD.  The ladies over at MPTH are starting to reveal their work on the blog so be sure to check out the fabulous job they are doing.

Here is one of 5 projects I have made so far with my kit, and I still have left over paper and embellies, its amazing how much product you get in one kit!!

What Inspires Me ?

COLOR!!!

I was playing with my MPTH July Kit and wanted to share what inspired me to make this card. First and foremost it is COLOR. I love the yummy reds from the IOD Loolah Paper and the pretty flowers and adorable lady bugs. SO this is my card ....

I decided to use a sketch from my new Paper Crafts Mag "Go To Sketches".  The sketches and cards in this mag are all so cute.

I chose the sketch from Teri Anderson

I changed up my card to fit my vision of the sketch and my inspiration from the IOD paper I used. I want to emphasize that you can use a sketch as a starting point and not necessarily copy the sketch exactly. Enjoy!

Whoo Hoo - I have my July kit from My Paper Treehouse and I am in LOVE.  We received so many awesome goodies I am jumping up and down right now.  I just finished making this cute album using some of the product that I received.   The album is from Punky Sprouts and the paper is from IOD!

Dolphin Encounter

We just got back from an awesome 4th of July week at Bonita Beach.  I just love the gulf - its like one giant swimming pool. 

We had the best time with awesome friends and we had a very special encounter with nature.

There was of pod of 3 dolphins and this one was after a very large snook fish that was near shore.  See how close I got to the dolphin.  It was such a great experience.

Cards

I wanted to post the cards that I made with the My Paper Treehouse June Kit.  There was so much Jillibean Soup in the kit and I loved all the patterns.  I still have product left over from the kit even after making 6 pages and 2 cards, so I definately will be making some more cards with what I have left.

This card I used as a sample for a challenge over at My Paper Treehouse, so go on over there and play along with us.  The challenge is a recipe and all entries are to be in by saturday.  The winner will be announced on Sunday and they will win some rub-ons and a bottle of stickles.

My Paper Treehouse JUNE KIT DEBUT is finally here!!!

I have been so excited about this new venture and it has taken sooooo much will power to keep it secret until now.  Wow, I was getting ready to explode; so happy that I finally get to show you what I have done with this fabulous kit.  You get so many goodies.  My favorite was the corrugated letters from Jillibean and also the packages from prima.  I LOVE the branch with the pretty bird. 

Also what I think is pretty cool about this kit is that $5 dollars out of every June kit will be donated to the Save The Children Foundation. Check out their site here.  You also get a discount on the kits if you pre-sign up for the monthly kit and I know that the kits are already selling out pretty fast so hurry on over to My Paper Treehouse and dont miss out on getting yours!!

I love these colors and working with the owl and branch.

Here is another layout I did with this kit.  All in all I did 6 pages and 2 cards and still had products left over.  How fun is that right?

I used white paint on this one and added a touch of red.

Last Sneak Peek before the June 1st Reveal!

My Paper Treehouse June 1st debut is tomorrow!!  This is going to be a great kit club, we are starting off with our first challenge tomorrow so be on the lookout.  The full kit is also revealed tomorrow along with the awesome work that the design team has done.  So far their sneak peeks have been amazing.  Here is my last sneak peek before tomorrow.

June Kit Sneak Peeks

New Classes for June

I thought I would show you a sneak peek of a class I am doing over at the new Paper Tree House Studio in Miami.  Nana the owner had an awesome turn out at her kick off party featuring all the teachers and their classes.  Here is one of mine :)

One of the techniques we will be doing in class is painting.  I used white paint to give the layout a white-wash feel for those lazy days of summer.  We will also be paper piecing the cute frog.  So if you live in the area and want to come over and say hi check out My Paper Tree House face page.  Nana will be setting up her blog and website soon.

What a Mess

I have been working non-stop for the last 2 days on some projects for the new kit club "My Paper Tree House" and some classes for June.  It is late and this is what my scrap room looks like after a whirlwind of inspiration.

I will clean this up tomorrow and take some sneak peeks of what I have been up to for the last couple of days.

FLOWERS BLOG CANDY WINNER

Yeah, I am back home from a great vacation with my hubby.  We drove to California!!  Can you believe it!!!  All my friends said we were crazy and would kill each other on the trip, but we had a blast!!!  It was so awesome to be with the man I love and see beautiful cities and states across the country.  I did take some pictures which I will post later, I wish I had taken more pictures but I always forget to bring out the camera darn it!!

For all you wonderful Mommy's out there, Happy Mothers Day.  I am still traveling and on my way to Texas so I cannot post a pic right now - but I have some flowers to give away :) yep, I have primas and petaloo's for you.

Leave a comment and let me know how your mommy day went and I will pick a winner on Friday.  My mother's day was filled with phone calls and good wishes so I wanted to spread the love.  I just want to say that I am very blessed to have such a kind and beautiful daughter, awesome in-laws, friends and sisters.  Hope your special day was special too :)

I am so excited!!!  I have been asked to join the new kit club MY PAPER TREE HOUSE design team.  I cannot believe that I will be designing along with such talented ladies.  I am in awe of their talent and feel so blessed to be a part of what I know is going to be such a fun kit club.  Nana the creator of this fabulous kit club has such great plans for each month's kit.  We will have challenges, sketches, and exclusive My Paper Tree House goodies each month.  Whoo hoo, I can't wait till I get my JUNE kit and start creating :)

New Kit Club in Town

Well, its been a while ...   I was sick for a couple of weeks and had no energy to create then I went on vacation (actually I still am LOL) anywho so while I have been  out of touch - I get some fantastic news.  A new kit club is starting My Paper Tree House and they already have some awesome designers that have so much talent I am beside myself.

Easter Bunny Layout
