Celebrate Christmas

Well one down and one to go.  Well actually I have more ideas roaming around in my head for Christmas albums LOL.  But for now, lets just say that I still have a half finished album on my work table that I will finish by next week.

So back to this album "Celebrate" I thought it turned out whimsical and cute which lately I do a lot of whimsy.  I use to be altered vintage when I first started scrapping years ago; then when I started teaching alot of classes it seemed that my audience liked whimsy.  Maybe it is because there are a lot of mommies out there with young children and I can see why they would be more partial to cuteness.

Anywho, what I did with this album was use an assortment of eclectic papers with the color scheme of pinks, blues, and reds.  I was inspired by the cutie patootie snowman on the tin ornament I used on the cover and everything after that kind of just came together.

The covers are made from the Clear Scraps snowflake album and the inside pages are different shapes and made of chipboard.  I like to mix things up :)

Working like a little Elf

Just wanted to show you a sneak peak of what I have been doing the past week instead of blogging.  I have been busy making christmas albums for our PFOP team challenge.

I have been working on two albums, one in light colors and pink and the other in deeper reds and greens.  One has acrylic snowflakes and shaped pages and the other is a really cool pocket interactive technique that my good friend daphna Justintime design taught me.  Love my scrappy friends because you are always able to learn from them.

Dont forget to check out PFOP those girlies are very talented and I am happy they are letting me play with them on their team.  They have some nice albums and pages posted this week.  So dont miss out because the albums sell fast.

I also wanted to mention that I am getting ready to teach in LA with my very sweet friend Amy Muffoletto.  She just opend a REALLY REALLY cute store called CREATE 365 in Lafayette and she has asked me to teach a couple of classes for her on Dec. 10th and 11th.  You must check out her store!!!  Look how cute it is

I will post more on these classes later, but what I will tell you now is that one of the pages I designed was with the Nikki Sivils "Willie Bee" collection.  Nikki was generous and kind as usual and sent me a whole box of Nikki products to give away to those ladies that take the classes.  Whoo Hoo!!  Thank you Nikki!!!

Class at My Paper Tree House

If you live in S. Florida, check out the classes I am teaching in your area. If you have any questions about the classes, just click on the "email" and I will answer any of your questions.

I will be teaching Family Faves Album this Saturday November 13th at:

My Paper Treehouse Studio
13056 SW 133 Court
Miami, FL, 33186

Class should take approx 3 hours, but I will be staying (11:00am - 4:00pm) so dont feel you need to rush.

I used the wood album from Chatterbox.  The album has twelve (12) chipboard pages, each page measures 5 ½ by 6 ½ and each photo matte measures 4x4. Every page is very embellished with lots of chipboard, felt pieces, primas, ribbon, fibers, buttons, embossing and more.

All product is included, you just need to bring your adhesives.

Hope to see you there !!

Traditions Christmas Album

Today is Friday and the team over at PFOP will be listing MORE new items today so go by and check it out.

I am listing my album early because I am on my way to EPCOT!! Should be alot of fun, we are going to the food and wine festival.

I decided to make this christmas album with a bit of vintage feel, so the colors are more muted and I used alot more inking.

For more pictures go to my posting here Traditions Christmas Album.  I also made a you tube video ... still no talkies though, just pics and music.  As soon as I get some courage I will make a talkie LOL

The binding of my album has a faux suede paper.  The covers are chipboard and the inside pages are paper bags.

Isn't this wood ornament cute?

I thought lots of fiber vs. ribbon would give my album a more warm and vintage look.

My girlfriend Daphna, gave me this cute wood snowflake, I thought it would look cute as a charm along with gingerbread men.

I already have an idea for my next album and hopefully will have it finished for next friday!!  Thank you for looking

School House Rock

I was in the mood to make another envelope album and had a mixed collection of school themed papers and left over chipboard elements from the Crate Paper School Spirit Collection so this is what I came up with.

I drew and paper pieced the shcool house cover.  I think it turned out cute with all the apple tags and ribbon.  As usual the album turned out very CHUNKY!!  I can't seem to help myself even though I really do try :)

For more albums click here.  I've posted it on ebay.

Thank you for looking.

A Little Early for Christmas?

I am getting caught up on the whole Holiday Season whirlwind.  I can't help it ... christmas advertising, commercials and decorating is starting to sprout up all around my town and I am getting that Holiday buzz LOL.

I went out and bought a TON OF embellies, paper, flowers and anything that I saw that was red and have started to make my Holiday items.

Here is my first!!

If you want to see more pics click here - I have posted this album on ebay.   Thank you for looking.

Autumn Leaves

I love the colors of Autumn .... orange, brown, gold but alas we don't get the seasons here in Florida.  We did get a little change when I lived in Cali but not like real Autumn.

I am starting to feel the holidays so I decided to make an Autumn mini album and I really enjoyed embellishing it with leaves and my favorite colors.   I did add lots of texture using felt, yarn, corrugated  cardstock, sewing and layers.

For more pictures of the album click here.  I posted it on ebay.  Thanks for looking.

MPTH School Bus Album with Crate Paper

Geez, this took me alot longer than I had anticipated.  Usually I am a pretty fast scrapper but this album took me about a week, and still I have to put some finishing touches on it.  I need bigger zutter rings so gotta go shopping for that.  I should have known, I can't seem to make a flat album to save my life ...

So I designed this cute school bus cover, that alone took me 4 hours!!!  Once I have it totally finished the way I like it I will post the entire album on you tube.

I pretty much used up my entire kit on this album.  I still have a couple of rub-ons left and a few chipboard embellies.  I added some extra tags, a cute lunch bag,  ribbon and buttons of course.  The buttons look so cute hanging off the tags right?

I will post a link to you tube, once I have it up.  Thanks for looking.

Sticks, Buttons and My Paper Treehouse

Everyone that knows me .... knows that I love buttons!!  I almost always add buttons to my layouts or albums.  How did I become the button lady?  I inherited it from my mama.  My mom was a very talented lady, she could make anything out of yarn, paper or fabric.  My mom would make all our sweaters and dresses for my sisters and I.

This is one of my prized possessions, I have it hanging in my scraproom to give me inspiration and to remind me of my mama.

My sister Rebecca made this for my Birthday.  My twin sisters are very talented, they turned out like Mom.

I had the white rose on a dress my mom made me in high school

The little elephant button use to be on one of daughter's sweaters that mom made for her

So when I received My Paper Treehouse kit I was challenged to use some popsicle  sticks that came in my kit.  Now this is why I love monthly kits ... I would never have thought of using sticks in my projects, but here I had some in my kit so I racked my brain and knew that I wanted to add buttons.

This is what I came up with.  Now this is just a seak peek because this album is taking longer than I originally thought so here is what I have done so far.

I made large tags that go into the pockets

I added my sticks which I painted and my fabric from my kit to decorate the tag "handle"

Of course I had to add some buttons

I took a break to show you what I have done so far, so I still have a couple hours till I have to run errands.  Back to work for me, I hope to have my album finished by tomorrow.  Keep checking back, and if you have any questions ... dont be shy.  Also check out my paper tree house online to buy the monthly kits.  This September kit is loaded with the Crate Paper School Spirit Collection.

A little altered

I have made a couple of these little altered canvases.  I like putting them on my studio wall as a little inspiration.  They also make great gifts!

This one is stamped with the words "You & Me"  and collaged with the Harmonie envolee printaniere collection.
